Thomas Carr 1873

Thomas Carr is delighted to be taking part in the 2021 Exmoor Food Fest with his newest restaurant 1873.

Having opened in September 2020, 1873 quickly gained recognition from Michelin when they Tweeted about the “delicious dishes” following a visit only a few weeks after opening. The restaurant is located in Ilfracombe’s former Victorian police station and has bags of character and despite the building’s history it is now a lovely place for a romantic evening or a relaxed meal with friends where you will be well looked after by our friendly front of house team.

As ever, Thomas and the team are passionate about using the best of local produce, particularly seafood which plays a big part in the 1873 menu.
We look forward to welcoming you this February!

The Exmoor Food Fest returns in 2021

We are now looking forward to the return of the Exmoor Food Fest in February 2021 to celebrate the best hospitality our region has to offer.

Fingers crossed we’ll soon be able to tell you a bit more about the launch night which we have scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26 January 2021. We have to assume that space in restaurants will still be subject to Covid measures, which means that there will only be a limited amount of tickets available. We are about to open up a waiting list for these tickets – make sure you have signed up to our newsletter to be in for a chance to join us on the opening night of the 7th Exmoor Food Fest.

For those of you who are on Telegram, please join our “channel” where we will post updates on restaurants and events as they come in.

Are you a restaurant interested in joining? Then please click here.

Here’s hoping for a 2021 where, once again, we can enjoy amazing food in the company of friends and family.
