Welcome to New Coast Kitchen in Croyde

New Coast Kitchen is based in the heart of Croyde Bay in North Devon. We offer a set lunch menu between 12-14:30 and a la carte dinner menu 18:00-late 5 nights a week. We work very hard to offer our customers fresh, high quality dishes served in a precise modern style.

We are still a young business having taken the building on last year in the middle of Covid-19. The building was a shop and cafe so since last year we have gone through a high number of changes including a full renovation and many tweaks to the ways we accommodate our customers.

Croyde is very much a seaside holiday destination and has an array of great family friendly pubs and eateries which has allowed us to really commit to offering holiday makers and locals a very different dining experience for the area. We constantly challenge ourselves to improve and push standards across the business every day with the goal always being to offer our customers the best of everything.

Our kitchen is run by our head chef Martin Baylis who is a young, talented, and exciting chef. Originally from Worcester Martin moved to North Devon 4 years ago and has worked in some amazing restaurants both locally and across the country. His vision and passion for offering top quality dishes consistently is the backbone for our restaurant and has given us a strong foundation to create something that we hope many people enjoy and will continue to visit now and in the future.

We aim to keep both the food and drinks menus fresh and exciting by making numerous changes throughout the year to align with seasons, introducing different combinations of flavours and as we uncover new local suppliers offering the best produce the South West can offer.

We are delighted to welcome everyone of all ages at New Coast Kitchen. Due to the size of our restaurant and the style of service we are sadly unable to accommodate highchairs and pushchairs and we do not have the facilities to welcome very young children. If your little one is happy to sit at the table and dine from our full menu, we would love to serve them with you. We do not allow dogs inside the restaurant at any time.

To make a booking please visit our website where our full menu and terms and conditions can be found.

Where to stay: Bossington Hall

Nestled on the slopes of Porlock Vale, Bossington Hall is barely noticeable as you pass through the valley as it blends so well into the surrounding landscape.
Quite how such a gigantic building can hide so well is unbelievable. The Hall belies its interior, as the vernacular building has been lovingly brought back to life by Guy, an ex-aerospace design engineer, with meticulous attention to detail.

Forget dated floral frilly edged bed spreads, with WiFi, 50” TVs, modern plumbing and Angel Strawbridge wallpaper, it is more like a makeover programme on a grand scale.

Bossington Hall is now a luxury Bed and Breakfast, with probably the best view in Somerset, if not the South West. Sumptuous breakfasts are served, after which many guests find they don’t even need lunch! Six rooms are currently open, with more coming in the new year, along with a Sauna and Wellness Suite, as well as a disabled accessible ground floor suite – quite a challenge in a Grade II listed 110 year old building.

Guy and his Staff are well known for their customer service level beyond all expectations.  Quality such as this comes at a price, but starting at £120 a night, it’s not as astronomical as their standards.

The White House, Williton

Welcome to the White House in Williton who are joining the Exmoor Food Fest for the first time!

The White House is a family-owned Hotel and Restaurant located in the bustling Somerset village of Williton. The building, originally a farmhouse, was built approximately 300 years ago and is a Grade II listed building. It has 7 guest bedrooms in the main house and a further 5 in the Courtyard. These outside rooms were formally the stables and a dairy and if you venture to the back of the Courtyard you can see the original barn.

The restaurant is open to the public as well as hotel guests and has two resident chefs, Dainis and Arek.

Our 2 chefs, Dainis and Arek, are both directors and have been friends since they worked in the same kitchen in London in 2005.

Arek is from Poland and Dainis is Russian Latvian.

As well as Poland, Arek has worked in kitchens in London, Dubai, Oxford and Reading. He specialises in Asian and traditional British cuisine.

Dainis has also worked in London plus New York, Birmingham and Exeter. He specialises in European food, particularly French and Italian but has also been head chef of a traditional Indian restaurant.

At The White House we source our meat from Somerset Farmhouse butchers, our vegetables from Veggie Patch in Watchet and our eggs from Meadowsweet Farm. We grow a lot of our own herbs at The White House.

Our menus showcase the different skills of the chefs. They add their own splashes of exotic flavours and cooking styles to predominantly British dishes.

Thomas Carr 1873

Thomas Carr is delighted to be taking part in the 2021 Exmoor Food Fest with his newest restaurant 1873.

Having opened in September 2020, 1873 quickly gained recognition from Michelin when they Tweeted about the “delicious dishes” following a visit only a few weeks after opening. The restaurant is located in Ilfracombe’s former Victorian police station and has bags of character and despite the building’s history it is now a lovely place for a romantic evening or a relaxed meal with friends where you will be well looked after by our friendly front of house team.

As ever, Thomas and the team are passionate about using the best of local produce, particularly seafood which plays a big part in the 1873 menu.
We look forward to welcoming you this February!
