As the name suggests this restaurant was originally the one of the stations on the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway which closed in 1935. The Old Station is situated at the southern extremity of Exmoor National Park at the Junction of the A39 and A399 at Blackmoor Gate.
We offer an extensive menu throughout the day starting with breakfasts at 9am, morning teas, coffees and cakes. The Main Menu is available from midday and continues through to the evening without any break. Our particular forte is to cater for larger groups. We do not serve ‘fast food’ only good food as fast as we can. Every day the chefs prepares specials utilising our own or locally sourced produce where possible. Our Menu for the Exmoor Food Fest will be available Monday to Friday from noon until 7.30pm There is a 2 course menu for £10 and three courses for £15. Our menus are available on our website.
The restaurant has plenty of capacity with areas set aside for customers to bring in their dogs and children. The children are entertained by a large play area outside and colouring books to keep them occupied.
To cater for our customers, we also have a used bookstore and a small grocery shop to provide those impulse forgotten purchases. We will even provide a net of logs if you need them.
The beer garden looks down onto our field where goats, sheep, lambs, alpacas, geese and chickens compete with each other to entertain the audience who enjoy the spectacle and the spectacular view down the valley.

Here is some background about our partner Miles Tea & Coffee:Based by the coast in the West Country Miles Tea & Coffee has discovered the secret in setting the pace of life a little slower. Enjoying a regular ‘Miles Moment’ to share memories and stories with friends or family is so important; regular tea breaks have been a tradition in the family business since the beginning in 1888.
Every morning, the kettle is being filled up with fresh water in the Miles tasting room, cups are lined up, leaves are weighed with an old six pence and the boiling water is poured gently onto the leaves to create some of the world’s finest tea infusions.
“Time for tea” is a favourite saying at the factory, so if you haven’t tried any of their award winning West Country Miles products then it is definitely time to explore their delightful blends! The Miles range of tea, coffee and hot chocolate is stocked at most farmshops and other retail outlets throughout the West Country.
Did you know Miles have been independently ranked in the top 5 UK tea brands this year?
If you are passing Exmoor a warm welcome awaits you at our factory shop in Porlock, or for the adventurous, regular tours take place at the Roastery.
